Bio
Introduction:
Mr. McLaughlin went to sea at the tender age of 19. He sailed aboard the SS Mara/ National Bulk Carrier, he sailed for 14yrs during this time he helped to raise his family by sending home his pay check and built his family home. I have heard stories of many voyages when the entire crew almost lost their lives due to bad weather but he continued to go as it was the only way to support his family. He worked in many areas of the ship such as the deck, engineering dept, stewart dept and engine room all teaching him skills needed to survive.
