I nominate Mr. Jake Donovan Manderson Sr. (AKA JD) as Mr. Manderson as he was a seaman for many of years. He travelled all over the world on the National Bulk Carriers, West Indian Line and Dredging. He also did Turtling a number of times to Swan Island and one of his trips they were caught in Nicaragua waters and was put in Jail and was there until the money was paid for their release. He was also a Leverman on the dredges.He dredge areas in Grand Cayman such as Snug Harbour Canal on the Golden Isles (dredge name)and he also dredge South South/Spots area on Dredge Overland (dredge name). He travel on the dredge to Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Bluefields Nicaragua (Rama River and surrounding area). He was piloting a boat over from Miami area with his cousin Sherlock and when approaching Cuba the boat started taking in water and began to sink and they were all rescued and brought to Grand Cayman. He spent many months away from home in these voyages. He was a good Fisherman and could be seen alone fishing in East End and the Northside, Northwest Point and along Seven Mile Beach loved the Ocean until his passing in 1991.
