Bio
Introduction:
I nominate the above person, my father, Jaime "James" Levi Williams in the category of Pioneer because his life as a seaman spanned from 1956-1977, and during the twenty-one years that he was a seafarer, he worked on 11 different ships,
all belonging to the National Bulk Carriers Shipping Agency, in the United States of America.
His voyages took him all around the world, and away from his family for the greater portion of our younger lives but he always called, from each port where his ships would dock, he often wrote letters to us and he helped us to develop hobbies like stamp and coin collecting,
always sending extra stamps on and inside each envelope or package of mail that we received, and always saving coins for us, from all of the countries he visited on his voyages. So although he was always gone from us, for long periods of time, he found creative
ways to maintain bonds with us, during our childhood, and to also help us to develop an interest in travel, other cultures, and places.
The ships on which he sailed were: The S.S. Percy Jordan, The Harold H. Helm, The George Champion, The Sinclair Petrolore, The Albert G. Brown, The Ore Monarch, The Ore Regent, The Spruce Wood, The Ore Jupiter, The Universe Admiral, and The S.S. Cavala.
The Positions held during his 21-year tenure: Messman, Wiper, Oiler, Junior - 3rd. Engineer, 3rd. Engineer, 2nd. Engineer and Officer.
