Introduction:
I HEREBY NOMINATE MY BROTHER, GLENDELL COLLIN DILBERT, TO BE INCLUDED ON THE "MEMORIAL SCROLL". GLENDELL WENT TO SEA AT A YOUNG AGE AND SAILED FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS WITH NATIONAL BULK CARRIERS (1965-1975). HOWEVER, HIS TRAGEDY OCCURRED IN 1977 WHILST ON A FISHING TRIP TO LITTLE CAYMAN. RETURNING FROM FISHING, THE WEATHER GOT BAD AND COMING INTO THE WEST END CHANNEL THE BOAT OVERTURNED AND THE CURRENTS WERE VERY STRONG. GLENDELL UNFORTUNATELY GOT SWEPT AWAY AND HE DROWNED. GLENDELL LEFT BEHIND A WIFE AND THREE YOUNG DAUGHTERS. I FEEL IT WOULD BE MOST APPROPRIATE FOR HIM TO BE RECOGNISED AS A SEAFARER AND PLACED ON THE MEMORIAL SCROLL.
