Uncle George sailed up until 1972 when he went missing off the ship he was on at the time. He also enjoyed sailing on National Bulk Carriers Tankers. He position was a Chief Steward on the ships he sailed. On ship from Venezuela, Oronoco River at the mouth of the river there was a call - Man Overboard. Last position held 'Chief Steward'.
