Bio
Introduction:
As with many other Caymanians George Hydes (or AG as he was affectionately known) sailed the oceans of the world on tankers with National Bulk Carriers. he rose to the position of Chief Mate. His stories were many and always left an indelible mark on those persons to whom he told them to. One such story was when he was traversing the South Pole where it was so cold that sailors beards and moustaches were becoming frozen. When his first son was born, he stopped going to sea with National Bulk but continued sailing with Capt. Willie Farrington and Capt. Owen Farrington on the family vessels that carried goods between the USA, Cuba and Cayman. There was also trips to the Miskito Keys turtling.
