Mr. Ethrid Mack Henning sailed for some years with various shipping companies within the US. During the Korean War, Ethrid was drafted into the US Army. He spent 20 years in the US Army and after retiring he returned to a seafaring career. Sailing with the Subbean Towing Company headquartered in Port Arthur, Texas for over 10 years. He was married to the legendary's sea captain, Reginald Parson (known as Uncle Reggie), daughter Effie Parsons. The couple had two sons. Mr. Henning passed away in 2011 and is buried in the US Military Veteran Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia.
