I nominate the above person for the above indicated category because : At the age of 14 he left school to help his father with building [ship] Then in1942 at the age of 19 he went to sea ,he sailed on the Husvik as Mess boy, Chief cook on the S.S. Colister, Quarter master of the M.V Transpan and Chief Mate on the Merco. After passing his Capt License he sailed on number of Vessels including the Kirkco, the KirkC , the Omoa j the Selena and the Kirk Chief. He sailed during and after World War 11 on Army transport Vessels. After retiring from sea he went back from time to time to help out his friends. Sept 1987 he was one of the Founding Father's of the Veterans &Seaman's Society of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. He was elected Chairman of the Association also the 1st President of the Society for number of years until failing health forced him to retire. One of his favorite times of the year was the annual picnic and the giving out of fruit baskets to the older people and the Staff of Faith Hosp.. at Christmas time. The Organization helped out with other Charities on the Island while he was the President. He also excelled at sea to the highest Rank . L
