Introduction:
I would like to nominate my mother, Louise Llewellyn in the category of Friends of Seafarers. Mrs. "Louise", as she was affectionately called, was instrumental in accommodating and providing housing for Cayman Brackers who came to Grand Cayman and were waiting to ship out. Names like Tibbetts and Scotts, stand out. She was like a mother to them and she did not charge them rooming fee. At times, they would pay her and at all times she reluctantly accepted it. One outstanding seafarer was Mr. Horace Christian, Renrick Christian's father, who had nothing but appreciation for what she did for him They all treated her royally, especially with gifts upon their return home. At 88 years old, I'm still hearing to this day of how my mother's kindness meant the world to these Seaferers.
