Edmonds shipmates said he was always willing to give a helping hand outside his own job to others. He was a pleasant man to work along side and hardly ever lost his temper and was always a quiet person.
Edmond has been going to sea since he was 15 years old, and his first ship was the Kirk Trader, followed by Island Prince, Kirk Pride, Commonwealth, Phosphore Conveyor, Gem Star and the Ottawa. He sailed for 10 years and I feel he could be a good candidate because he has always been very helpful and willing to help anyone outside his job and was always willing to learn new things. He was promoted three times from Messman to AB (Able Bodied Seaman).
