Bio
Introduction:
Capt. Darwin Tibbetts, my dad, was highly revered by NBC. So much so that they used him to pilot the ships up and down the Orinoco River during a Pilots strike in the mid sixties. They took him off his regular ship, the S.S. Ore Meteor to perform these duries so that there would be no hold-up of their ships loading Iron Ore in Puerto Daz. He was stationed at the mouth of the Orinoco River and would Pilot the ships in to be loaded and take the ship that was already loaded back down the River to open waters. This he did until things were back to normal and the Pilots strike was over. He then went back to his regular ship, Ore Meteor and continued to work for NBC until his retirement.
