Introduction:
Immediately, after serving and being honorable discharged from The Trinidad & Tobago Royal Navy after World War 2; Albert Stanton Jackson Sr. moved to the United States and went off to sea and became an official member of the National Maritime Union of America in 1952; during his tenure he recruited dozens of Caymanians Seaman to join the Union; Many seaman have returned to Cayman taking their prominent roles and many have remained in the United States especially in the Tampa Florida, Port Author Texas, New York and Philadelphia area. Probably being one of the only Caymanians ever elected to office; In New York on June 8, 1966 the Honest Ballot Association certified that Albert Stanton Jackson Sr. was elected by 10,099 votes. As a Field Patrolman and having his own office in Seattle Washington and a license to carry a concealed weapon; Albert Stanton Jackson Sr. never forgot his roots and although relocated on the West Coast of the United States far from the Cayman Islands; this did not prevented him from recruiting Caymanians; "Albert" or "Mr. Stanton" was well respected throughout the United States of America. He fought and encouraged all seamen to stand up for their rights. Like many seaman; Albert Stanton Jackson Sr. sent home his saving and built their homes and purchase land; in 2003 he was selected as one of the "Builders of Cayman" and named to the Wall of Honour for the district of East End located in Heroes Square in central George Town.
