On Saturday, February 11, Elder Varian Scott died in Jamaica, British West Indies, after a long illness. Mr. Scott served in World War II as a Lt. Commander in the Navy. He received a Silver Star award for bravery and coolness during the destruction of his ship. He was a Mason and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mobile, Alabama.
