Bio
Introduction:
I nominate the above person for the above-indicated category because he is my brother, who died during one of his voyages, at t sea, the young age of 22.
He was buried in Japan, in 1959 and our parents, my father, the late Capt. McCherry Ebanks and my mother Editha never got over the loss of their young son, or the fact that his body lay in a grave, in a country so very far away from the Cayman Islands.
My brother's story is one of bitter-sweetness because he died far away from his wife, child, parents, siblings, and his home, but he was held and surrounded by his Caymanian shipmates, while he was dying, so he did not die alone.
I am 3 years younger than him, and I am now 80 years old. I have physical disabilities, and as such, although I have nominated my brother, should he be the recipient of recognition of a Memorial Scroll on Heroes Day, although I will attend, I will not be able to walk and receive on his behalf.
Therefore, my daughter - Denise Johnson, who has always been the "historian" in our family, the one who is always collecting pictures, documenting events, and researching family ancestry, is the person who will collect the Memorial Scroll in my brother's memory - should his nomination be successful.
My daughter's information is therefore listed herein in this nomination form.
