Introduction:

I nominate the above person for the above nominated category because he went to sea in 1960 to support his family as there was no other jobs available. He began his seafaring career on the Ore Convey as a Wiper and over a 25 year career, progressed upwards to Third Engineer which is the title he held when he retired and returned home to his family in 1986.
