William Banker Ebanks was known as "Uncle B" in the West Bay community. He was born in September 1882 and died in 1979. From 1916 as a seaman he sailed on numerous schooners as a Turtle Ranger. One of the schooners was the Goldfield where he was a cook. He sailed all over the Caribbean and to the USA fishing for turtle. He was also a carpenter who worked building boats with Rayal Bodden.
