Mr Thomas Baxter Rivers, known as Backie, started his seafaring career as a turtler on the schooners 'Banks' and 'Meritwell'. He sailed the seven oceans of the world. Mr. RIvers served under the command of the US Army transport service during WWII. He was married to ship owner, Abraham EBanks daughter, Urslie Ebanks. They had two sons, one of which followed his dad's footsteps as a seafarer. Mr. Thomas Rivers passed away in the late 1990's.
