Captain Marcus Scott as he was known as started his career at seas at the early age of 16. He left his home of Cayman Brac as this was one of the few well paying jobs for Caymanian during the 30s to support his family.
Capt. Marcus earned the title of captain at the age of 38 in 1956 and sailed mainly for the Kirkconnell family. He retired from sea in 1980 after 46 at sea. During his 46 years at sea he was join by 4 of his sons (he had 7 children in total) as they looked up to their father as being a hard working and honest man and wanted very much to follow in his footsteps.
Capt. Marcus sailed on the MB Lora and Cimboco, to name a few ships, during his 40+ years at sea.
