Introduction:
I nominate the person in the above category because he risked a life in the US Merchant Marines during WWII as well as on submarines in the Cold War. He sailed in convoys that delivered supplies to Great Britain so that they could continue to fight against the Axis Powers in what Sir Winston Churchill described as "Their darkest Hour." He was in the top three of the youngest people in his Union to retire. He was 40 years old.
