Introduction:
Shortly after the war, he went to work for National Bulk Carriers, an oil transfer fleet being developed by D.K. Ludwig. His responsibility was to crew these ships and he turned to the Cayman Islands to find a good pool of competent seamen which he drew on for many years (The Southwell Years)
