Bio
Introduction:
I nominate this individual because he is my father. He sacrificed watching his children grow up to instead ensuring that we were cared for financially. I was raised in a home with my mother and 5 siblings. My father worked for 24 years at sea. He left Cayman Brac in 1958 at the age of 21 to work with National Bulk Carriers on vessels name: Percy Jordan, Ullysses and Titan until 1966. In the 1970s he was employed by Mr Dantzler sailing on Biloxia, Ocean Springs, Cbrac and Hollisheadberg being the last vessel coming home in 1986 to work with local company Cayman Energy. The vessels ranged from tankers, supply ships and freighters. During his years at sea he visited the following countries: Aruba, Australia, Bahamas, Canada, Canary Islands, Colombia, Curacao, Egypt, England, Greece, Hawaii, Holland, Indonesia, Jamaica, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mexico, Mozambique, Nigeria, Panama, South Africa, Trinidad, USA and Venezuela. Each voyage having so many stories. Like when travelling in the Persian Gulf area your toothpaste came out like water, it was so hot. My dad has always been my hero and I am so happy that the seafaring persons will be honoured at this Hero's Day.
