Bio
Introduction:
Our dad (Meredith Hensdale 'Lil' One' Chollette) worked on several ships in his lifetime, beginning in his early years. He and his twin brother (Wilfred Marfield 'Biggy' Chollette) first started out to sea at approximately 17 years of age.
Some of the ships 'Lil' One' worked on were the Bulk Petro, the Bulk Star, the s/s Ore Titan, and the Ore Venus. On these ships, he held positions such as Messman, Ordinary Seaman (OS) and also Engineer.
The experience helped him secure employment as Chief Engineer at Wyckoff Heights Hospital in Brooklyn, NY which he retired from after 30+ years of service. Our father travelled all over the world while at sea. He has gifted us all with the love of travel.
He should be recognized as all our seaman should as they put their lives on the line just being out to sea. Seafarers matter.
