Introduction:
LLOYD DENNISTON EBANKS (De Osca) 1928-1987 After completing school in West Bay, he shipped out on the M.V. CIMBOCO on the 3rd day of May 1944, at age 16, as ordinary Seaman/Deckhand until 7th of December 1945, and after some time at home he made a trip to the Mosquito Cays fishing for turtle with his father and grandfather. A DECORATED KOREAN WAR VETERAN In early 1946, was successful in getting a job with the Swannee Steamship Company in Tampa, Florida and other companies where opportunites allowed. He was successful in receiving his Permanent Resident Visa in the USA and was able to work and continue his education. 1949, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and after training was sent to Korea with the Forces there. After two Tours of Duty, he was wounded and returned to the U.S. for medical treatment. During his time in the Army, he received various medals. He was discharged from the Army in 1956 and resumed his Sea Career with various companies until 1985 when he became ill and stopped sailing. VARIOUS COMPANIES WORKED FOR:- American Export Lines, United States Lines, Maritime Transport Lines, Key Stone Shipping Co., Moore McCormick Lines, Farrell Lines, and many others. PLEASE NOTE THE SURNAME EBANKS WAS CHANGED BY OFFICIAL DEEDPOLL IN 1959 TO DE OSCA.
