Bio
Introduction:
I nominate the above named person for "Pioneer" category because: He first started his Seafaring career, sailing the High Seas in 1949 at the age of 16 years to Diamond Spot, Mosquito Cays, Central America with the late Captain Macsherry Ebanks of West Bay as a Turtle Ranger, on board the Antarus. He continued on many more turtling voyages to the Mosquito Cays, as cook/turtle ranger, sailing on different sea going vessels such as the; the Wilson, the Jimson, the Cayman Venture, the Mirco, to name a few, with other well known Cayman Sea Captains such as; Capt. Joe Anglin, Capt. Edison Ebanks, Capt. Osbert Ebanks and Capt. John Powery, all of whom are now deceased. In between those voyages my father built Cat Boats including his own which he Captained himself on the Cays in catching the Turtles. He later transitioned to much larger ships and more extensive voyages with National Bulk Shipping Company, sailing to various parts of the World on large Oil Tankers such as the; the Bulk Petrol, the Commonwealth, the SS Petricurie, My father also sailed many voyages on the T Mac with the late Capt. Benson Ebanks, starting with its inaugural voyage out of Miami to Grand Cayman and continued sailing to other places in the U S A and the Caribbean. Unfortunately his Seafaring career ended in 1980 whilst sailing on the MV Carrigulf Venture as Ch.Mate and sustained a broken leg as a result of a mechanical accident onboard the ship, in Belize, Central America. He built his last Cayman Cat boat in 2013 at 80 years of age!

The above nominee (Pastor Mr. Araunah Uriah Powery) is my father, whom I've known to have gone to seas as a source of employment while I was in Primary school. I was also informed by multiple people whom are also Caymanian Seafarers that confirmed that my father also went to work on ships and other vessels overseas.
