Bio

Introduction:
Larry Ebanks enjoyed a 30-year career at see and went from deck hand to Captain. Larry's career at sea began as a deck hand in 1956 and he became a Boatswain for National Bulk Carriers in 1964. He went on to work for Imperial Oil Company of Toronto Canada until 1966 when he returned to Cayman. He remained at home for two years working in the C.I. Government Treasury Department. In 1968 he went back to sea, joining the West Indian Shipping Company in West Palm Beach Florida as a second officer, subsequently promoted to Captain. After another short stint at home he joined Gulf Mississippi Towing Company of New Orleans and was based in the Middle East. He went on to work as Captain and First Officer for Jackson Marine Corporation of Houston, Texas for about seven years from 1978 until he finally retired from the seaman's life in 1986 and came home to start his life on land. After a long bout of illness, Capt. Larry Ebanks passed away on 11 December 2016 at the age of 78.
