Bio

Introduction:
My Father, Harrington, as he was known, is being nominated because of his many years as a Seafarer working for National Bulk Carriers. As a result of this, he was able to provide for his Family back at home in North Side. I always remember the excitement when we got a notice from the Post Office that there was parcel for my Mother...we knew that this contained new clothes plus other niceties!! While being on these ships was a job, it was also a great opportunity as they got to see a lot of the world that otherwise would not have been possible. Also, while he did not excel to the highest rank, he was a hard worker and proved to be a favorite of his shipmates due to his infectious personality!. To my knowledge he was a Messman in his latter years. I would also note here that my Father was on board one of the NBC ships that blew up (unfortunately I do not remember the name ) I do remember however, my denial in not wanting to believe/accept this.....My Father survived, but there were a lot of anxious people who gathered at the family home in Old Man Bay, to await a telegram that would confirm one way or another as to the outcome... Needless to say we were grateful for the news that he was alive. My Father also served in the Navy in Trinidad.
