Introduction:
I am nominating my Grandfather Mr. James Ezekiel McCoy AKA Sam McCoy as depicted on the memorial monument erected in George Town, Grand Cayman for those lost at sea. My Grandfather and several other Cayman Brackers lost their lives whilst working on the Schooner Alsons that was lost at sea off the coast of Cayman Brac during the 1939 hurricane. He left behind a young wife and 7 very young children. He was so respected as the head of his family that his widow never remarried and raised their children on her own.
