Introduction:

James Eden Ebanks known to all as "Doc James". He went to the Moskito Keys from the age of 12 yrs on the "Goldfield". Then he sailed with the Swanee Shipping Co. in the 1940's on the Romana Pitman & Tatt, a Banana operator in the 1940's-1950 out of Tampa and the National Bulk Carrier in the late 1950, 1960's on a ship - the Transpar. Also on the Insco Merchant - Tampa to South America - in the 1950's. He sailed as Bosun and applied and was responsible for the application of certain medicines.
